On Tuesday, French luxury brand Chanel presented digitally its Fall 2021 ready-to-wear collection during Paris fashion week.
The brand released on social media and YouTube a film by legendary photography duo Inez and Vindooh, which was shot outside on the city’s streets instead of inside its usual venue at the Grand Palais.

Chanel’s artistic director Virginie Viard was inspired by the legendary style of the late Stella Tennant, the British supermodel and Chanel icon for so many years before her sudden death in December 2020.

Viard was also inspired by the brands’ fall 1994 collection, which featured conspicuously fake-fur suits and coats featured in black, white and hot pink shearling.
The collection is infused with “ski spirit” and featured many designs such as Norwegian sweaters, quilted salopettes, voluminous puffers, ski pants, short-cropped jackets, lace camisoles, knit suits, quilted satin miniskirt, and midi-length crochet skirts. Viard also presented designs in sequin fabric and layers of fringing at the cuff.
