Celine Dion to Make Her Acting Debut in “Text For You”

Canadian Music Icon Celine Dion will be making her acting debut in the Screen Gems romantic-drama movie, tentatively titled, “Text For You”.

“Text for You” is based on the 2016 German film “SMS Fur Dich”, and also stars Outlander's star Sam Heughan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

It is directed by Jim Strouse, who also co-wrote it alongside Lauryn Kahn.

The plot revolves around a woman (Chopra Jonas) who begins to send “romantic text messages” to her deceased fiancé's old cell phone, but little did she know, that the number has been reassigned to a man (Heughan) across town, who is suffering from similar heartbreak. They slowly begin to fall in love with each other and decide to meet.

There is not much known about Dion’s role, however, she might take on the role of an internationally beloved Canadian chanteuse, as the protagonists are influenced by her music that provided them the courage to take a chance on love again.

“Text for You” is still in early development, and does not yet have a release date.
