As we bid farewell to 2020 and the year 2021 approaches, we pay homage to the departed souls who have passed away this year.

Najwa Qassem:

Lebanese journalist and television presenter Najwa Qassem was one of the most famous news anchors in the Arab world. She died at the age of 52.

Kobe Bryant:

Kobe Bryant was a five-time NBA star winner of the Los Angeles Lakers. He died in a helicopter crash at the age of 41.

Mary Higgins Clark:

American writer Mary Higgins Clark, dubbed "The Queen of Suspense", had a lot of best-selling work. She died at the age of 92.

Nadia Lutfi:

Veteran Egyptian actress Nadia Lutfi, one of the most prominent actresses of the golden age in Egyptian cinema, passed away at the age of 83.

Veteran Egyptian actress Ragaa El Gedawy died at the age of 81 from coronavirus. She was one of the most beloved actresses and one of the most prominent in the Middle East with a fruitful six-decade career.

Olivia de Havilland:

British-American actress Olivia de Havilland, known for her role in "Gone with the Wind", died at the age of 104 years.

Mohammad-Reza Shajarian was one of the most prominent figures of traditional music in Iran. He passed away at the age of 80.
