CBE Governor Hosts IMF Deputy Managing Director, Accompanying Delegation

The Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt received Nigel Clarke, Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and his accompanying delegation at the Bank's headquarters today, as part of his current visit to Egypt to follow up and discuss the latest developments in the economic reform program.

The meeting, which cam eon sunday reviewed the positive indicators of the Egyptian economy in light of the state's efforts to implement the National Economic Reform Program, which has contributed to boosting growth rates and creating an attractive investment environment, in addition to increasing remittances from Egyptians working abroad.

The meeting also addressed the joint efforts between the Central Bank and the government to curb inflation and maintain its downward trend.

Clarke expressed his appreciation for the strong partnership between the Fund and Egypt, commending the progress made in the economic reform program.

In a post published on the X platform following his meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, Hassan Abdallah, today, Clarke said, "We reaffirmed the strong partnership between the IMF and Egypt," noting that the discussions focused on enhancing the resilience of the Egyptian economy to external shocks.

The IMF Deputy Managing Director emphasized that Egypt, thanks to its adoption of a flexible exchange rate regime and a balanced monetary policy, has succeeded in strengthening its ability to confront economic fluctuations, in addition to achieving significant progress in containing inflation rates.
