CBE: Egypt Always Keen to Cooperate with African Institutions, Countries

Hassan Abdullah, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) received at the bank’s headquarters a delegation from the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), headed by Vincent Nimehl, the group’s general secretary.

Hassan Abdullah pointed out that the Egyptian state is always keen to strengthen cooperation frameworks with all African institutions and countries in particular, pointing to the importance of the African depth for Egypt throughout history, explaining that Egypt supports development efforts in all parts of Africa.

On his part, Nimehl, pointed out that he had participated in 7 previous versions of the annual meetings of the group, and this is the first time he witnessed such a distinguished level of organization, expressing his deep appreciation for the sincere efforts made by the Central Bank of Egypt working group around the clock to bring the event to the fore. This level will meet the requests of all participants.

He added that the tangible efforts made by Khaled Fouda, the governor of South Sinai and all the executive leaders in the governorate, had a great impact in facilitating the stay of all the participants in those meetings, and leaving in their memories a wonderful impression of the charming city of Sharm el-Sheikh.

He hinted that the AfDB is looking forward to meeting the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, in the annual meetings for the year 2024, which are scheduled to be held during the period May 27-31 2024 in Nairobi - Kenya.
