CBE: Domestic Liquidity Rose to EGP 5.575 Trillion

The domestic liquidity in the banking sector rose to record EGP 5.575 trillion at the end of September, compared to EGP 5.489 trillion at the end of August, an increase of EGP 86.2 billion.

The statistical data of the Central Bank revealed that the money supply recorded EGP 1.330 trillion at the end of September 2021, compared to EGP 1.307 trillion at the end of August, an increase of about EGP 22.9 billion.

Cash in circulation outside the banking system scored about EGP 693.109 billion at the end of September 2021, compared to about EGP 691.5 billion a month earlier.

Current deposits in local currency amounted to EGP 637.4 billion, compared to EGP 615.9 billion, month-over-month.

Moreover, Quasi money recorded EGP 4.245 trillion at the end of September, compared to EGP 4.181 trillion (MoM).

Meantime, non-current deposits in local currency amounted to EGP 3.601 trillion, compared to about EGP 3.537 trillion (MoM), while the current and non-current deposits in foreign currencies amounted to EGP 643.44 billion at the end of September, compared to about EGP 644.4 billion, month-over-month.
