Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced that Thursday, October 21 will be an official leave for all banks, on the occasion of Al-Mawled al-Nabawi (Prophet Mohamed's Birthday).
In a statement, CBE added that banks will resume work on Sunday, October 24.
It is worth mentioning that, Al-Mawlid Al Nabawi al-Sharif is the observance of the birthday of the Islamic prophet Mohammad which is commemorated in Rabi’ al-awwal, the third month in the Islamic calendar.
The Prophet’s birthday is a remarkable holiday widely celebrated across Egypt and the whole Islamic world.
