CAPMAS:Egypt Invested 40 Billion Pounds to Develop Slums

The data of the Housing Bulletin in Egypt showed, released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMS) revealed that during the fiscal year 2021/2022, several projects have been implemented to develop slums affiliated with the Urban Development Fund and their costs in the period from 2010 to 2021.

The data of the annual bulletin issued by the CAPMS estimated the total number of projects at about 70 projects, with a total of 89,363 housing units, in addition to 2,448 commercial units.

The annual bulletin affirmed that the total financial cost of the projects amounted to 40 billion and 329 million pounds during the period (2010-2021), and the implemented housing units were distributed in Cairo Governorate, which is the largest number, about 42 thousand and 484 units, followed by Alexandria Governorate with 30 thousand and 577 units and the lowest number of units in Ismailia Governorate with a number 20 units.
