Enrique Tarrio, the former leader of the right-wing Proud Boys group who was charged with storming the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, has asked Donald Trump for a presidential pardon.
Enrique Tarrio is serving 22 years in federal prison after being convicted of the storming.
According to NBC, Tarrio’s attorney, Nayeb Hasan, wrote a letter to Trump on the fourth anniversary of the January 6 attack, asking for a “full and complete presidential pardon” from Trump, who has pledged to pardon some of the rioters after taking office on January 20.
Hassan described his client, 42-year-old Tarrio, as a young man with a bright future.
