Four people, including two children, are missing after record flooding caused by torrential rains in the province of Nova Scotia in eastern Canada, according to police.
The two children were in a flooded vehicle and three other passengers managed to get out, according to a spokeswoman for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The search is on to find them.
The spokeswoman indicated that two other people went missing in similar circumstances.
Nova Scotia Prime Minister Tim Houston said during a press conference that the province recorded in less than 24 hours about 250 mm of precipitation, equivalent to three months of rain.
