The leader of the Canadian opposition Conservative Party, Pierre Poilever, said that national security leaks in the media proved that the Chinese system helped the Liberal Party led by incumbent Prime Minister Justin Trudeau win.

Speaking at a news conference in British Columbia, Poiliver said leaked intelligence and police documents show that Beijing worked to help elect Justin Trudeau.

Poiliver stressed that this is an accepted fact so Trudeau doesn't even deny it." He added he thinks Canadians of all political backgrounds are asking, 'What is Justin Trudeau hiding?'"

Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau acknowledged there was interference but said it did not affect the election results. The Conservatives and the New Democratic Party also said the intervention did not affect the overall election result.

The "Globe and Mail" newspaper also reported, citing Canadian intelligence documents, that the CCP's strategy was to elect a minority liberal government and defeat some conservative candidates.
