Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said Thursday that he cannot rule out the possibility of Canada taking part militarily in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Speaking alongside Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Canberra, Carney said Canada could not categorically exclude military involvement as the war continues to escalate.
He emphasized that Ottawa will stand with its allies while monitoring developments in the region.
Carney had previously criticized the recent US-Israeli strikes on Iran, saying the attacks raised concerns under international law.
His remarks come amid intensifying fighting in the Middle East and growing debate among Western governments over how to respond to the widening conflict involving Iran.
