Cairo is set to host the International Russian Language Week in Africa from 9 to 11 December, an event organized by Rossotrudnichestvo—the Russian Federal Agency for International Cooperation—and Moscow State Linguistic University. The gathering brings together specialists in teaching Russian as a foreign language and offers a platform for educators across the continent to take part in advanced training and exchange expertise.
The program provides professional development for department heads, academic coordinators, and teachers of Russian from African educational institutions. It follows a hybrid format, with online learning forming the core of the mandatory stage and in-person sessions taking place in Cairo during the three-day event.

Throughout the week, participants will attend lectures delivered by senior faculty from Moscow State Linguistic University, practical workshops, consultations with experts, and focused training sessions. A dedicated book exhibition will present updated teaching materials and methodological resources from leading Russian publishers.
Vadim Zaitchikov, Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, said the initiative serves as a valuable platform for educators working in the field of Russian language instruction. He noted that the program addresses current teaching challenges, explores culturally adapted approaches, and supports new forms of international academic cooperation.
