Cairo Univ. to Launch 3rd Phase of 1000 African Leaders Project

Cairo University President Dr. Mohamed Osman El-Khosht said that the university is preparing for launching the third phase of 1000 African leaders project, organized by the faculty of African Graduate Studies at the University.

The President of Cairo University added that the project was launched last March with the participation of 1260 young people from Egypt and 34 African countries, pointing out that the university is currently preparing for the launch of the third specialized phase of the project, which is scheduled to start in mid-September.

El-Khosht noted that this phase of the project will include training sessions and workshops given by a group of internationally accredited specialists, professors, experts and trainers.

The President of Cairo University affirmed the university's keenness to employ all its capabilities, expertise and human cadres to serve the national goals, pointing out that the project serves the Egyptian policy to achieve more openness to Africa and consolidate the bonds of cooperation with African countries and peoples, through the use of science, scientific research and youth energies to serve Africa in addition to assisting the Egyptian leadership in its mission in the presidency of the African Union. This emphasizes the role of the university in serving the Egyptian strategic objectives and enhancing Egyptian-African relations.

On his part, Dr. Mohamed Nofal, Dean of the faculty of African Graduate Studies, said that the third phase of the project will include training young participants in the majors of politics, economy, media, management and entrepreneurship, explaining that the major of politics will include everything related to international politics, international law, conventions , Africa's political systems, as well as the role of Egyptian diplomacy in Africa, election systems and the efforts of the African Union , relevant institutions and organizations.

He added that in the major of economics, young people will be trained in the fields of African economics, development and economic planning, macroeconomic and econometrics, investment opportunities in Africa and everything related to the African economy.

While in the major of media the participants will be trained in the fields of journalism, radio and television, public relations, electronic media, media ethics, and the reality of African media and its challenges and future.

In the major of the management, participants will be trained in the fields of organizational behavior, modern trends in management, comprehensive quality management and projects in addition to strategic management.

In the major of entrepreneurship, they will be trained on how to generate ideas to have entrepreneurial projects, marketing and operational plans, programs to support pilot projects in the African economy and entrepreneurial project presentation skills.

Noteworthy, the project of 1000 African leaders, comes upon the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, to train and rehabilitate African youth to assume leadership, in all political, economic and social fields. The President instructed the government and senior officials to launch a presidential program to train African youth.
