Cairo Univ. Celebrates Graduation of 22 Arabic Teachers from 11 Countries

Higher Studies for Education faculty at Cairo University is organizing a graduation ceremony for 22 participants in the teaching Arabic as a foreign language program. The participants came from 11 different countries.

The ceremony will take place on Sunday, December 22 2019, 10:00 am in Dr. Ali Madkour Hall, the main building of the college.

The event is under the auspices of Dr. Mohamed Othman El-Khosht, the University President, in coordination with the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development at the Egyptian Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Dr. Al-Khosht explained that this program is unique to Cairo University, as it aims to train a foreign teacher to teach the Arabic language to speakers of other languages.

This comes in light of the educational linguistic immersion entrance, for 22 teachers representing 11 countries, namely Azerbaijan, Armenia, Albania, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Belarus Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Russia, Tajikistan and Mongolia,

The program aims to use modern strategies in teaching Arabic language skills, and design its educational curricula for different levels of language, as well as designing language tests according to international standards in teaching the Arabic language.

On other hand, Dr. Eman Haridi, the Graduate Studies in Education College dean, reported that this program lasts for a month with six training hours per day, and the training program includes a cultural dimension supervised by the Egyptian Foreign Affairs Ministry.
