Brandit Cairo has announced the launch of the second edition of the Egypt International Electric Mobility Summit 2025 — "EVs Electrify Egypt" , scheduled to take place from December 18 to 20 at the Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC).

The summit will be held under the patronage of the Prime Minister’s Office, with the participation of several ministries and government bodies, including the Ministries of Industry and Transport, Environment, and Supply and Internal Trade.

Other participating entities include the Arab Organization for Industrialization, the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), the General Organization for Export and Import Control, the Internal Trade Development Authority, as well as a number of research and professional institutions such as the Engineers Syndicate and the Electronics Research Institute, alongside specialized local and international organizations.

Mohamed El-Saeedi, CEO of the EVs Summit, said the second edition builds on the success of the inaugural event held in October 2024, which saw broad participation from government entities and electric mobility companies, in addition to strong public attendance. He noted that this turnout reflected the growing interest in clean transportation solutions within the Egyptian market.

El-Saeedi added that the upcoming edition aims to serve as a comprehensive platform bringing together companies, investors, and key stakeholders in the electric mobility sector to discuss investment opportunities, challenges facing local manufacturing, and mechanisms to support Egypt’s transition toward electric transportation amid evolving global economic and environmental conditions.

The first edition of the summit witnessed the announcement of the establishment of the Egyptian-Arab Association for Smart Mobility and Electric Vehicles, which seeks to strengthen cooperation among manufacturers, developers, and investors, and to support the shift toward more sustainable mobility solutions in Egypt and the wider Arab region.

The second edition will feature panel discussions and specialized seminars addressing the future of electric mobility in Egypt. Key themes include attracting foreign investment for electric vehicle manufacturing, the readiness of supporting industries, and local and international challenges associated with the transition to electric transport, as well as geopolitical dimensions and regional cooperation.

Sessions will also examine the role of the transport sector in climate action efforts, sustainable transport targets, carbon credits, and opportunities for international cooperation to support the green transition. In addition, discussions will cover infrastructure development plans, smart cities, and the integration of electric vehicles into modern urban development projects.

Other topics on the agenda include localizing the manufacturing of light electric vehicle components, developing lithium-ion batteries domestically, the latest research on electric vehicle motors, and challenges related to the production of three-wheeled electric bikes.

An accompanying exhibition is expected to feature a wide range of companies and brands operating in electric and hybrid vehicles, electric buses and trucks, as well as charging solutions and infrastructure, offering visitors a firsthand look at the latest products and services in the sector.

The summit comes as part of broader public-private sector cooperation to support Egypt’s drive toward environmental sustainability and the expansion of clean and alternative transportation, within a wider national strategy for transforming the transport and energy sectors.
