The Italian Embassy in Egypt, in partnership with Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Italian Museum of the Stables of the Quirinale Palace, will hold a press conference in Cairo to officially unveil the highly anticipated exhibition “The Hidden Treasures of the Pharaohs”. The event is scheduled for 3:00 PM at the historic Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square.
The exhibition, which will run in Rome from October 2025 to May 2026, is hailed as a cultural milestone of exceptional historical and artistic value. It will take place in one of Italy’s premier exhibition venues and will feature rare artefacts from the Egyptian Museum in Cairo—many of which will be leaving Egypt for the first time in history.
The press conference will be attended by high-ranking officials including H.E. the Hon. Antonio Tajani, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, and H.E. Sherif Fathy, Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities. Their presence underlines the event's diplomatic and cultural importance, reflecting a renewed spirit of cooperation between the two nations.
“The Hidden Treasures of the Pharaohs” marks the first major Egyptology exhibition in Italy in over two decades, since the renowned 2002–2003 exhibition at Palazzo Grassi in Venice. The new exhibition aims to offer Italian and international audiences an unparalleled glimpse into ancient Egyptian civilisation, showcasing artefacts of extraordinary aesthetic and archaeological significance.
Beyond its cultural relevance, the initiative represents a deepening of Egyptian-Italian ties, particularly in the heritage and tourism sectors. It also reflects a broader bilateral revival in cultural diplomacy, reinforcing both nations’ commitment to the promotion and preservation of global historical heritage.
The exhibition is expected to draw significant international attention and foster further collaboration between Egyptian and Italian institutions in the fields of archaeology, museum studies, and cultural exchange.
