The executive director of Cairo Stadium Ali Darwish said on Saturday that the oldest stadium in Egypt is ready to host 25,000 fans during Al Ahly and Zamalek matches in the CAF Champions League (CL) semi-finals.

"Cairo Stadium is ready to host Al Ahly and Zamalek matches in the CAF Champions League semi-finals," Darwish said in televised statements.

"I believe that CAF will allow fans to attend the semi-finals and we can take the responsibility of hosting supporters," the executive director added.

"The distance between every person in the stadium will be at least two meters," Darwish noted.

It is worth mentioning that Egypt's Al Ahly are set to clash against Morocco's Wydad, while Zamalek will take on Raja as the first leg will be held in the last week of September, whereas the second leg will take place in October.
