Cairo Opera House Commemorates Fayza Ahmed's Birth Anniv.

A live concert will be held at the Cairo Opera House on Sunday night to commemorate the birth anniversary of the late, notable singer Fayza Ahmed, under the patronage of Egypt's Culture Ministry.

Maestro Mohamed El-Mogy will direct the Abdel Halim Nouira Ensemble for Arabic Music in performing a selection of Ahmed and Atrash's remarkable songs and iconic pieces, reminding people of the legacy and spirit of the late singers. 

The concert will include pieces like "Ya Smar Ya Smarni" and "Ana Alby Eleik Mayal" and will be played by the Arab Music Assembly.

Born in Sham, Ahmed migrated to Egypt and became a leading singer in the Egyptian film industry. 

She is considered one of her generation's most popular and acclaimed Syrian singers. Ahmed started her music career at the tender age of 18, appearing on Syrian shows. 

Fayza died in 1984 after a fight with cancer.
