In a step intended to enhance their dialogue and address the Palestinian issue, Cairo hosted a tripartite ministerial meeting on the latest developments of the Palestinian issue, which was attended by foreign affairs ministers and intelligence representatives from Egypt, Jordan, and Palestine.
The ministerial meeting on Monday explored ways to further strengthen their corporation as well as the political will to create an effective Palestinian Unity Government.
In that respect, they examined how collective international engagement towards a two-State solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict could be reviewed.
Also in this regard, the meeting was focusing on coordinating stances and visions on how to follow up on the outcomes of the trilateral summit that was held in Cairo in September.
The meeting also reiterated the solidarity of the Egyptian and Jordanian governments with the Palestinian people, support for the State of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and the need to put pressure on Israel to abide by international law.
The Arab ministers and members of the intelligence services expressed grave concern at the deteriorating situation on the ground, labeling Israeli illegal practices as obstacles to peace, at the conclusion of their statement.
