Sherif El-Erian, Secretary-General of the Egyptian Olympic Committee said on Saturday that the Confederation of the African Football (CAF) implemented the Egyptian Olympic Committee's sanction on Zamalek's chairman Mortada Mansour.
The Egyptian Committee on Sunday decided to suspend Mansour for four years and called for running new elections for Zamalek's presidency.
"If Zamalek's boss does not recognise the Olympic Committee, why did he file a complaint to the committee a few days ago against Al-Ahly?" El-Erian said in televised statements to Al-Nahar TV.
"CAF refused Mansour's signature on the White Knights' request to change the venue of Raja match and asked for the vice president's signature," the secretary-general noted.
"Zamalek's new elections will be run in November," he concluded.
It is worth mentioning that Zamalek are set to clash against Raja in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League as the first leg will be held on October 18, while the second tie will take place on October 24.
