Cabinet's spokesman Nader Saad said that the state is working hard to ensure that goods reach citizens at a fair price without exaggeration by traders, and that prices will drop starting from the new year.

In a call-in with “Sada Al-Balad” channel, the spokesman added that the government has taken the initiative to pump commodities in large quantities in the recent period to prevent a crisis in the markets and ease the burdens on citizens.

He explained that the pumping of commodities into the markets had an important role in controlling the rise in prices, citing the intervention of the state to solve the crisis of rice.

He stressed that the government will work hard to ensure fair prices for strategic commodities, such as oil, sugar, flour, rice, and others.

He revealed that the coming period will see a drop in the prices of some commodities, with the beginning of the new year, and that all commodities will have a price, and that everyone will abide with them.

He pointed out that the Federation of Industries and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce will be responsible for determining the prices of commodities, and that within two weeks, price tags will begin to be applied to commodities in stores and outlets.
