The Egyptian Cabinet approved a draft decision submitted by the Central Agency for Organization and Administration (CAOA) regarding the promotion of state employees.
This came during a cabinet meeting, Thursday, chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
Up to 800,000 state employees are entitled to be promoted to a higher job ranking as long as they meet the promotion requirements.
Also, wages of the promoted employees will rise by an estimated 5% per cent of their fixed salary or basic income plus their last bonus or any of a higher value.
Employees holding first-class positions and have been there for more than three years are entitled to a bonus of a minimum of EGP 100 and a maximum of EGP 150.
The decision comes in the light of the state's interest in encouraging young employees, raises the levels of human cadres in various state departments, and helps more youth advance in their careers.
