Five buses carrying Palestinian travelers returning from Egypt arrived in Khan Younis via the Rafah crossing, marking the first phase of a series of planned return trips to the Gaza Strip.

According to Al Qahera News, the Rafah land crossing is located at the southernmost point of Gaza, within the city of Rafah, which remains under Israeli occupation control. This situation prevents civilians from accessing the crossing directly, requiring buses to transport travelers from the crossing to Khan Younis, the first city north of Rafah and one of Gaza’s major population centers.

The buses arrived at Nasser Medical Complex, where Palestinian families gathered to welcome relatives returning from Egypt after long periods of medical treatment in Egyptian hospitals.

It's the first in a series of return trips, with additional buses scheduled to transport large numbers of Palestinians back to Gaza, in a scene carrying significant humanitarian and political implications.
