Burundi commences Sisi's support, aims at boosting bilateral relations

Burundi’s Foreign Minister Albert Shingiro expressed the great appreciation of his country’s leadership and people for the real interest of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in supporting Burundi on the ground and effectively.

The Burundian Foreign Minister met, Wednesday, with Ambassador Yasser Al-Atawi, the Egyptian ambassador in Bujumbura.

For his part, Atawi affirmed Egypt's keenness to consolidate its relations with the sisterly Republic of Burundi, pointing to the Burundian similar keenness to strengthen relations with Egypt, the great sister in Africa and the country of highly appreciated status and role on the African and international arenas.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the overall bilateral relations between Egypt and Burundi and ways to activate them in all political, economic and other fields.

The meeting touched on ways to expedite the two sides' agreement to conclude a number of bilateral agreements to serve as operational and practical tools to strengthen and consolidate the frameworks of bilateral cooperation in a number of areas of common interest, and in light of Egypt's keenness to provide more support and assistance to the Burundian leadership.
