The Burullus fishing port in Kafr El-Sheikh governorate was closed on Wednesday due to bad weather conditions.
Egypt is currently facing a wave of unstable weather. The cold snap is accompanied by rain of varying intensity, thunder, hailstorm, and a 3:4 drop in temperature.
The wave will continue for the next 48 hours, with weather expected to begin improving on Friday.
As a result, marine navigation has been suspended at the port to ensure the safety of lives and maritime operations.
Major General Alaa Ibrahim Abdel-Moati, the Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh, ordered the implementation of all precautionary measures. These include verifying the integrity of navigational aids at port entrances and exits and enforcing maritime safety protocols to prevent potential incidents.
