Bulgarian President Radev Receives Mayor of Busan

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev received the mayor of Busan, the Republic of Korea, Park Heong-Joon, the press secretariat of the head of State said on Wednesday.

Radev remarked that the Republic of Korea is a long-standing friend and valuable partner of Bulgaria.

During the meeting, Park Heong-Joon presented a letter to the Bulgarian head of State on behalf of Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol, conveying Korea's desire to deepen bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Radev underscored that Yoon Suk-yeol's message is an important step towards the intensification of the dialogue between Bulgaria and the Republic of Korea at the highest political level.

The Bulgarian side is highly motivated to develop and deepen economic and scientific cooperation with South Korea as a leader in the development of high technologies.

Radev also highlighted there is great potential for developing bilateral partnerships in the energy sector, building a green economy, and implementing joint projects in these fields.

During the meeting, the mayor of Busan presented the city's bid to host the World Expo 2030.

Radev voiced confidence that Bulgaria's government would consider Busan's bid in the spirit of excellent bilateral relations.
