Bulgaria's Minister of Defense, Todor Tagarev, announced that his country intends to deliver Soviet-made armored military equipment to Ukraine in the coming fall.
Parliament is expected to approve the agreement for the delivery of around 100 pieces of equipment in September.
Speaking at a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart, Oleksii Reznikov, on Monday, the Bulgarian minister stated, "Parliament will resume its sessions in September, and I believe that will be a priority. By the end of September or early October, approval of the agreement will take place. I think deliveries will commence after that."
Tagarev also affirmed Bulgaria's support for Ukraine's swift accession to NATO.
In response, the Ukrainian defense minister highlighted discussions with the Bulgarian side about the possibility of Bulgaria participating in training programs for Ukrainian military personnel and aiding in the treatment of injured Ukrainian soldiers on Bulgarian territory.
