NATO has confirmed that Bulgaria will host the 20th NATO Civil Emergency Response Exercise in September of next year.
This event is one of the largest and most complex global training exercises for disaster response and emergency management.
According to a NATO statement, the exercise is organized by the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) and will bring together NATO allies, partner countries, and various international organizations.
The exercise will simulate scenarios involving natural disasters, industrial accidents, hybrid threats, and complex emergencies.
It will test procedures related to coordinating activities and logistics support across multiple nations, helping to measure participants' ability to work together effectively.
The training aims to strengthen cooperation between civilian and military actors involved in disaster response, enhancing the collective capabilities of NATO allies and partners to address evolving and interconnected security threats.
The EADRCC, NATO's primary mechanism for civilian emergency response, is available to all NATO allies and partner countries, providing support in disaster preparedness and emergency response efforts.
