The Faculty of Engineering at the British University in Egypt (BUE) is set to introduce three new educational programmes starting next academic year 2019-20.

The new curricula include Sustainable Architectural Environmental Engineering Program, Nuclear Energy Engineering Program and Gas and Petrochemical Processing Engineering Program.

Dr. Ahmed Hamad, President of the BUE, said that the three programmes aim at providing the university students with all elements needed by the labor market, especially that Egypt is one of the countries that have a promising future in those vital and important fields.

Hamad pointed out that the BUE Board of Trustees, headed by Mohammed Farid Khamis, is providing great support to help the university keep its permanent leadership.

On his part, Dr. Attia Attia, dean of the Faculty of Engineering, said the new programmes were submitted to the Supreme Council of Universities for approval, but the Higher Education Ministry’s final report over such programs has not been released yet.

Attia added that the faculty is among the fastest growing and best equipped in the country.

He said, “Our fast emerging reputation of excellence allows us to recruit and retain outstanding undergraduate students.”

He added that the faculty is eyeing to be the main home of expertise in the fields of energy and environment through creating new and distinctive programmes, in addition to the establishment of research centers.

Attia pointed out that the Faculty’s exceptional student experience is driven by low student-to-professor ratios, strong ties to industry, strong commitment to teaching and exposure to current and relevant curricula.

He noted that BUE Engineering graduates would enjoy the following advantages:

• An engineering degree accredited by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education.

• An engineering degree validated by our UK validating partners.

• Excellent job prospects in Egypt and abroad.

• The opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies locally or abroad.

• Technical competency and professional skills that will meet the demands of the 21st century job market.

He confirmed that the faculty depends on the practical approach while using modern technologies and doing research.
