Buckingham Palace has officially announced that Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, are expecting their third child, drawing widespread attention across British royal circles and international media.
The news was confirmed in a statement shared on the palace’s official platforms, noting that King Charles III had been informed and expressed his delight at the family development.
Princess Eugenie also shared the announcement on her Instagram account, posting a photo of her two sons, August and Ernest, holding a sonogram image. She captioned the post simply: “Baby Brooksbank due 2026,” prompting strong engagement from followers.
According to the palace, the birth is expected in the coming summer, though some circulating reports suggest a 2026 timeline, leading to some uncertainty over the exact date. No further clarification has been issued so far.
Under the current rules governing the British line of succession, the new baby is expected to take 15th place in line to the throne. The child will not carry the “His/Her Royal Highness” title, in line with existing royal protocols.
Princess Eugenie, the daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York and Sarah Ferguson, married Brooksbank in 2018. The couple welcomed their first child, August, in 2021, followed by Ernest in 2023.
The family splits its time between the United Kingdom and Portugal, while maintaining a residence within the grounds of Kensington Palace.
The announcement has been widely received as a positive family milestone, with social media users and royal watchers offering congratulations.
