Special Awards announced, on Friday, a list of the top 10 ‘Most Celebrity of The Year’ for 2021, declaring BTS’ member Kim Taehyung, known as V, number one on the list.
10) Xiao Zhan– China
Xiao Zhan, also known as Sean Xiao, ranked tenth in the list. Xiao Zhan is a Chinese actor and singer.
He started his acting career in 2016 and had since won widespread attention for his dramas, including Douluo Continent (2021), The Untamed (2019), The Wolf (2020), and Joy of Life (2019) and has won a number of awards and nominations for his roles.
9) Cha Eun-woo– South Korea
Lee Dong-min, professionally known as Cha Eun-woo, came ninth on the list. He is a South Korean singer, actor, and model under the label of Fantagio.
Eun-woo is a member of the South Korean boy group "Astro". He is best known for his acting roles in "True Beauty" and "My ID Is Gangnam Beauty".
8) Hwang Hyun Jin – South Korea
Hwang Hyun Jin ranked 8th on the list. He is the main dancer, lead rapper, sub-vocalist, and the visual of a boy band called “Stray Kids”.
Hyunjin, 21, was born in South Korea but used to live in Las Vegas. The rapper made his first debut with the group in their first album ‘I AM NOT’ and their leading single ‘District 9’.
7) Kim Ji-soo– South Korea
South Korean singer and actress Kim Ji-soo, known as Jisoo, came seventh in the list. She made her debut in August 2016 as a member of the girl group Blackpink under YG Entertainment.
Moreover, Jisoo featured in the successful launch of Dior’s new Bobby bag, a campaign that featured other prominent influencers such as Chiara Ferragni and Kat Graham.
6) Patrick Nattawat – Thailand
Nattawat Finkler, nicknamed Patrick, ranked sixth on the list. He is an actor and singer of Thai-German descent, born in Germany, but has been living in Thailand since 2014.
In 2021, Patrick participated in the Tencent survival show CHUANG 2021 (Produce Camp 2021) as a contestant, where he ranked 9th. On April 24, 2021, he debuted as a member of the International boy group, INTO1.
5) HoYeon Jung– South Korea
South Korean actress and model HoYeon Jung held the fifth position on the list. She was announced Louis Vuitton’s newest Global House Ambassador for fashion, watches, and jewelry.
The South Korean actress has had the attention of everyone due to her phenomenal performance in Netflix’s spectacularly successful K-drama Squid Game. The series’ fans made her the most-followed Korean actress on Instagram with more than 16 million followers.
4) Lalisa Manoban – Thailand
Thai rapper and dancer Lalisa Manoban, known by the mononym Lisa, held the fourth in the list. Lisa is a member of the girl group Blackpink.
At the start of this year, she began preparing for the release of her first solo album exciting fans all across the world. Astonishingly, the rapper has surpassed 100,000 pre-order copies in just a span of 27 hours on Ktown4U, making her the fastest K-pop female artist to do so in Ktown4U’s history.
3) Jeon Jungkook – South Korea
South Korean singer and songwriter Jeon Jung-kook, known as Jungkook, came third in the ‘Most Celebrity of The Year’ list. He is the youngest member and main vocalist in the K-pop boy band BTS. Jungkook is the first and only Korean idol to have two solo songs surpassing 500,000 shazams (Still With You & Euphoria).
2) Jung Ho-seok – South Korea
South Korean rapper and dancer Jung Ho-seok, known by his stage name J-Hope, held the second position on the list. He is the main dancer and rapper in BTS.
J-hope is the first Korean solo artist to surpass 7 million followers on Spotify. He had a collaboration with Becky G, making the super hit Chicken Noodle Soup back in September 2019
1) Kim Taehuyng – South Korea
Finally, South Korean singer and actor Kim Tae-hyung, also known by his stage name V, was announced the "Celebrity of the Year" for 2021.
In 2020, the BTS member participated in a song titled “Sweet Night” which received generally outstanding reviews for its composition, vocal performance, and warm lyrics, and debuted at number 2 on Billboard’s U.S. Digital Song Sales chart, the highest debut for a Korean soloist in the chart’s history.
