Security forces in Tunisia arrested, on Sunday, a Brotherhood leader who incited against President Kais Saied, provoking violence in the country.
Al-Ain reported, quoting anonymous sources that the security forces arrested the Brotherhood leader, Reda Radaya, in the Mahdia governorate, on charges of “inciting against the President Kais Saied."
The sources indicated that Radaya urged people, in a post on his Facebook, "to break into the Carthage Palace by force and isolate Saied." He deleted the post later on.
On their part, legal authorities considered the call "an encouragement to create a room for Tunisians to fight each other." Hence, they have immediately taken all necessary measures to stop this provocative act.
In the same vein, Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Hafez stated that Egypt is following the developments of events in Tunisia. He confirmed Egypt`s full solidarity with the Tunisian people and its support for their legitimate aspirations.
“Egypt trusts the wisdom and ability of the Tunisian Presidency to deal with this crisis as soon as possible,” Hafez said.
Moreover, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has said that Egypt is following measures Tunisia is implementing to achieve security and stability. He added that Egypt trusts the wisdom of the Tunisian political leadership to manage the scene to achieve the aspirations of the Tunisian people.
