British police have arrested two individuals following a stabbing incident that left several people injured on board a train traveling to northern England, authorities confirmed late Saturday.
No further details have yet been released about the number of victims or the severity of their injuries, but police said an investigation is underway, and both suspects remain in custody for questioning.
The incident adds to growing security concerns across the UK’s public transport network in recent months, with authorities urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
In a separate case, police earlier announced the recapture of a former asylum seeker and convicted sex offender who had been mistakenly released from prison.
The Ethiopian national, Hadosh Gerberselassie Kifato, had been sentenced in September to 12 months in prison for sexually assaulting a woman and a 14-year-old girl, and was also placed under a five-year sexual harm prevention order, according to The Observer.
Scotland Yard confirmed that the fugitive was arrested on Sunday morning around 8:30 a.m. in the Finsbury Park area of north London.
