The Israeli Broadcasting Authority said that British Airways announced the suspension of its flights to Israel until Wednesday.
This comes against the backdrop of the Israeli occupation army launching a series of air strikes on southern Lebanon at dawn on Sunday, in order to thwart the Lebanese Hezbollah's preparations to launch large-scale attacks on Israel.
The occupation army stated that its warplanes, based on instructions from the Northern Command and the Military Intelligence Authority, attacked Hezbollah targets that posed a threat to the Israeli home front.
On his part, the mayor of Haifa decided this morning to open public shelters throughout the city, against the backdrop of a security assessment, following the events that took place this morning on the border with Lebanon.
The occupation's Defense Minister Yoav Galant announced a "special situation on the home front for 48 hours."
The declaration of a state of emergency will allow the occupation army to issue special instructions to residents, limit gatherings, and close sites in relevant places.
