Reports  circulated in the Britain  have revealed that Muslim families refuse to vaccinate  their children with gelatin extracted from pigs.

It is worth mentioning that the British government launched a national program to vaccinate  the youngsters against influenza in the course of the last six years.

A host of Muslim scholars issued fatwa prohibiting fathers from permitting their sons to receive that unlawful vaccine.

Islam prohibits pig

It is well known that Islam has a clear cut  stance against the pig and any material would be derived from that animal.

The National Health Administration in the Britain  plans to hand over a vaccine to protect children from influenza.

Some experts warn of spreading that viral disease  among pupils in the elementary schools, especially in winter.

The controversial vaccine in named “Fluenza”  which is taken as drizzle by nose.

The producing company claims that this vaccine is very effective to prevent people at any age from catching influenza.

Fathers and sons

Despite those claims the Muslim fathers vow to pull their sons from that program.

The Muslim Council Board ( MCB) issued a statement on Monday, says that Muslim scholars ( Ulama) stressed that vaccines containing any element of pig are not permissible in. Islam at all.

They confirmed that using materials extracted from the pig could not be used unless there is no other   alternative to save human life.

Dr Shogae Shafi, Head of Committee at the MCB the British government and the health authorities to supply an orthodox vaccine ( without any elements taken from the pig).

On the other hand, head of the health service in the UK urges the Muslim fathers to reconsider their stances against the controversial vaccine.

He argues that  the vaccine is not similar to eating pig’s meat ( pork-ham or other forms of processed meat).

The UK has started the Fluenza since 2013 to protect the children against Influenza.
