Netflix halted Saturday production on season 2 of "Bridgerton" for the second time in a week after another positive coronavirus case.
On Thursday, shooting of the hit the wildly popular Regency-era drama was paused for 24 hours after a crew member tested positive for the deadly virus. Filming resumed Friday but was halted again on Saturday, after a second confirmed case.
The series is suspended for an indefinite period of time as the streamer and producers at Shondaland establish a timetable for a safe return amid the Delta variant of coronavirus surging across the UK.
The giant streamer didn't reveal the identity of the infected person, whether if they were a part of the crew or one of the cast members. But the inpidual is said to be isolating.
Season 2 will follow the pursuit of a suitable marriage for Daphne Bridgerton’s eldest sibling, Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) as chronicled in Julia Quinn’s second book, “The Viscount Who Loved Me“.
Meanwhile, seasons 3 and 4 should follow the next two titles in Quinn’s novels “An Offer from a Gentleman” and “Romancing Mister Bridgerton”.
Season 1, set in 1800s London, followed the journey to a happily-ever-after between Bridgerton’s (Phoebe Dynevor) and the rakish Duke Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page).
The steamy historical romance has been a worldwide hit since its premiere in 2020.
