European Commissioner for the Internal Market Thierry Breton said the European Union is speeding up arms deliveries to Ukraine in support of its counter-offensive.
"We will intensify our efforts to deliver weapons and ammunition," Breton said, noting that the European Union is preparing for Russian-Ukrainian war to last for "several more months, or even longer."
Earlier, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that the EU is ready to supply Ukraine with one million artillery rounds.
On May 5, European Union (EU) council finally approved the provision of assistance worth one billion euros, within the framework of European Peace Facility, to finance purchase of artillery shells and missiles for Ukraine.
