Moments ago, US President Donald Trump said that he's leaving Walter Reed National Military Medical Center after spending three nights following his positive tests on coronavirus.

In a striking message, the US President tweeted: "Don't be afraid of Covid. Don't let it dominate your life."

According to CNN, the message is only a continuous trend of downplaying the Covid-19 issue.

According to the American news network, the president will return to a White House that has now become a center for viral contagion -- in part because of disregard for mitigation measures -- as more members of his staff test positive for the disease; questions emerge about what steps have been taken to curtail the spread.

Questions also persist about Trump's condition. The president's physician said "he's met or exceeded all hospital discharge criteria." "We plan to get him home," Dr. Sean Conley told reporters outside Walter Reed.

"Even as Trump has told aides he feels better and is agitating to get out of the hospital; aides have encouraged him to stay, warning him of the bad optics if his condition were to worsen and require a second hospitalization," CNN reported.

Earlier today, a poll conducted by "Reuters-Ipsos" showed that the Democratic candidate in the US presidential election, Joe Biden, is leading in voting intentions. The poll showed that 51 percent of respondents support Biden, compared to 41 who said they would vote for Trump.

On its part, the Biden campaign announced that the Democratic candidate agreed to the possibility of postponing the debate with the US president if necessary. The new round of debate is scheduled to be held on October 15.
