Novak Djokovic resumed his dominance of the Australian Open by beating top seed Daniil Medvedev to claim his ninth title in the history.
Top seed Djokovic secured a 7-5 6-2 6-2 win to lift his 18th Grand Slam title, leaving him two behind Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the men's record history.
The 33-year-old Serb has not suffered any loss at a final at Melbourne Park and beating Medvedev is a third triumph in a row.
On the other hand, it is the fourth Grand Slam final's loss to the Russian fourth seed Medvedev in his career.
After losing to Nadal in the 2019 US Open final, the Russian was tipped to push Djokovic close and win his maiden major.
Medvedev had reached the Melbourne final on the back of a 20-match winning streak, but floundered under the intense pressure applied by Djokovic.
It is worth mentioning that Naomi Osaka claimed on Saturday the Women's Australian Open title after beating American Jennifer Brady in the final to win her fourth Grand Slam title.
