Moments ago, the Lebanese President reportedly decided to postpone parliamentary consultations to form the next government by a week, upon a request of parliamentary blocs, because of "some difficulties" which arose.
Aoun had been due to hold the consultations tomorrow and was expected to assess whether prominent Sunni leader Saad al-Hariri could rally support of a majority of parliamentarians to try to form a new government.
Two prominent Christian politicians, however, had indicated in the last 24 hours that they had reservations about nominating Hariri, who resigned as prime minister a year ago after mass protests.
