The Kuwaiti government headed by Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah submitted its resignation today, Tuesday, while Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah affirmed his confidence in it to continue its duties and prepare for the elections.
According to Kuwait’s News Agency, the Emir of Kuwait praised the efforts of the Prime Minister and the ministers in performing the ministerial tasks, stressing his confidence in the current government to continue carrying out it's duties and completing preparations for the upcoming legislative election.
Kuwait has sworn in its new emir, Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, before the parliament, following the death of his half-brother.
Late Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Jaber Al Sabah passed away in the US, at age of 91, after a long illness. He had ruled the country for nearly 15 years.
