Four months after the massive explosion that rocked the city port of Lebanese capital Beirut, a judge has officially charged the caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab, and three other ministers, for the crime of negligence which led to killing.
AFP quoted an unnamed judicial source saying that the judicial investigator, Fadi Sawan, today charged Diab and three former ministers with charges of "negligence and causing death" as well as wounds to hundreds of people.

The ministers - according to the source - are former Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil, and former Labor Ministers Ghazi Zuaiter and Youssef Fenianous.
The judicial source indicated that interrogation sessions will take place with those within days.
He explained that the judicial investigator’s decision came "after verifying that Diab and the three ministers had received several written notes warning them not to keep the ammonium nitrate in the Beirut port storage areas."
"In addition to their failure to take the necessary measures to avoid the devastating explosion and its massive damage," the source added.
The massive Aug. 4 blast was caused by nearly 3,000 tons of ammonium nitrates, a fertilizer that was improperly stored at a port warehouse for six years.
The blast killed more than 200 people and wounded over 6,000, and extensively damaged several neighborhoods in Beirut.
