Egypt Suspends All Flights over Coronavirus Outbreak

The Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli announced the suspension of all international flights in all the state's airports over the outbreak of coronavirus, starting next Thursday till March 31.

In a press conference, Madbouli said that all precautionary measures have been taken to face the deadly virus, confirming that the number of civil servants will be decreased over the coming period.

He stated that all hotels and tourist facilities will be sterilized and disinfected during the coming two weeks, in conjunction with the suspension of all tourist flights.

He added that the government will bear the burdens of the potential economic losses in order to protect the lives of the Egyptian people, calling on them to take this seriously and take care of themselves and their children.

The premier also warned against any kind of recklessness in dealing with the current crisis, noting that there is a full coordination among all the state's bodies to fight the deadly virus.

Madbouli also assured the citizens that the state has sufficient supply stocks to deal with the current critical stage

It is noteworthy that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi decided on Saturday to suspend schools, universities nationwide for two weeks over coronavirus, according to the presidency’s spokesman Bassam Rady.

The president also decided to allocate EGP 100 billion to finance the implantation of the state’s precautionary measures over the deadly-virus outbreak.

It is worth mentioning that, Egypt announced on Monday that another 13 people have tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 110 in the country.

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared on Wednesday that a new coronavirus, which is spreading around the world, a “global pandemic; However it announced the novel COVID-19 is still “controllable”.
