Four Tunisian soldiers were killed in a mine explosion on Wednesday in Kasserine Governorate, according to the Ministry of Defense.
The four soldiers were pursuing terrorists in an area between Kasserine and Sidi Bouzid, west of Tunis.
According to an official statement, "Tunisian Prime Minister Hecham El Mechichi offered his condolences to the families of the martyrs, hoping that God would bestow them with the mercy and accept them in his paradise."
"Our compass must remain directed to protecting the homeland from all dangers facing it, far from the tensions," the statement read.
"This process will not deter us from continuing our efforts to combat and defeat terrorism," PM stressed.
According to the statement, the prime minister authorized the provision of all necessary care and care to the soldiers' families.
