Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro said on Tuesday he tested positive for coronavirus. In a television interview, Bolsonaro said that he is feeling good despite running a fever.
"My health condition is better, but I cancelled a scheduled visit to State of Bahia," the Brazilian president added.
In the interview broadcast on state-run TV Brasil, Bolsonaro said he began feeling ill on Sunday and has been taking hydroxychloroquine, an anti-malarial drug with unproven effectiveness against COVID-19, according to Reuters.
It is worth mentioning that Brazil has the world's second-largest outbreak behind the United States, as it has more than 1.6 million confirmed cases and 65,000 COVID-19 deaths.
