Brazil has become the third-largest destination for foreign investment in 2025. The inflow of productive capital into the country reached US$77 billion, representing a 22 per cent increase compared with the previous year. This is stated in a report by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, as cited by Brasil 247, a TV BRICS partner.

According to the organisation, China ranked second with US$80 billion. The global volume of foreign direct investment in 2025 reached US$1.66 trillion, marking a 15 per cent increase compared with 2024, according to TV BRICS.

One of the key drivers of Brazil’s performance was investment in new production capacity (greenfield projects). The country secured US$40 billion for the construction of an artificial intelligence data centre powered by wind energy.

It is noted that while such investments declined by 24 per cent across other developing economies, Brazil recorded growth driven by demand for technological infrastructure.

In addition, according to the report, India was among the top five countries accounting for around half of global greenfield investment by capital expenditure on announced projects. The United Arab Emirates and China were also among the five largest investor countries by the same metric in 2025.

Earlier, India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, stated that the country had ranked among the top three performers within the Group of Twenty in achieving climate targets.
