High Representative of European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell and Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, discussed, over phone, on Friday, the situation in Gaza, according to the Italian news agency AKI.
The European foreign policy coordinator indicated in a post on the platform (X) that the conversation focused "on the ongoing disaster in Gaza and the worsening situation in the West Bank."
He added, "We share deep concern that full access to humanitarian aid remains denied, hostages have not yet been released, and fighting continues despite binding orders from the International Court of Justice. President Joe Biden's plan has not yet been implemented."
"We will continue to work closely together to achieve a ceasefire, ensure humanitarian aid access, secure the release of hostages, uphold international law and human rights, accountability, and peace," Borrell added.
He concluded by saying, "I look forward to the convening of the EU-Jordan Association Council next month to deepen our cooperation and partnership."
