The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell announced on Sunday, that the food crisis and the Ukraine war will top the European-Egyptian talks.
In press remarks, Borrell said that the European Union (EU) plans to provide 225 million euros to help North African countries cope with the food crisis.
Moreover, he stressed that stopping Ukraine war is the key out of the food crisis, warning of dire economic consequences if the Black Sea ports remain closed.
It is worth mentioing that, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and Borrell will chair on Sunday the ninth meeting of the EU-Egypt Association Council in Luxembourg.
Earlier, Borrell said that the Russian military attack on Ukraine "threatens to trigger a global wave of hunger."
He stressed that EU sanctions had "never targeted" the export of Russian agricultural products.
Moreover, Borrell expressed the bloc's readiness to work with the United Nations (UN) and its partners to stop the impact on global food security.
