EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell stated that he "strongly condemns the shelling of a football field in the Druze town of Majdal Shams," located in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, describing images of the incident as "shocking."
Moreover, Borrell emphasized the need for an "independent international investigation into this unacceptable incident" and urged all parties to "exercise maximum restraint and avoid further escalation."
Earlier, Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari said on Sunday that the rocket used in the Majdal Shams attack was Iranian-made and launched by Hezbollah.
During a press briefing, he added, "The number of casualties from the rocket fired by Hezbollah at Majdal Shams has risen to 11."
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu stated that "Hezbollah will pay a heavy price after the rocket attack" in Majdal Shams.
